I’m one of those people who loves to research services and products, narrow them down to a few and then enjoy the satisfaction of knowing I have the best one for the best price. Then, I like to tell everyone I know! Although I’ve always done that to some extent, I had an “ah-ha” moment when I found myself recommending the book Good Night, Sleep Tight by Kim West to several friends having trouble getting their babies to sleep, and my several sleep-deprived friends bought it (and experienced success).
That made me wonder about starting a web site so I could share what I find with a larger group!

After I became a parent, I learned that I was discovering useful strategies, products and tactics for handling the new little person in my life from…friends and word-of-mouth. Since my mother didn’t breastfeed, I had to find out about how to do it from friends and a lactation consultant. Since my mother-in-law lives far away, I don’t get to benefit from her advice. Since I didn’t know many people who’d had the kind of birth I wanted for myself, I relied on friends. In a lot of areas, though, my friends and various parenting forums were helping me the most.
So, I’d like this site to be written like the friend who will tell you what she’s doing. I’m not lecturing or preaching or begging you to buy and use what I use. I’m just here to provide reviews and recommendations. After that, it’s all up to you!
