She Walks, Talks, Dances and Eats Bananas
Have you ever wondered if your toddler would ever stop moving?
We took Nugget polka dancing this past Sunday, and she danced for 2.5 hours. She tolerated sitting at the table for short periods of time and then it wasn’t long until she would jump off my lap or wind her way among the chairs and tables (smiling all the way) to get back to the dance floor.
Although she was scared of the percussion at first, she would get closer and closer to the drummer until I had to stand very close to make sure she wouldn’t try and steal a drum stick — or the drummer’s beer.
Parenting and working is one of the hardest things you can do. It’s 16-hour days and constant bleary-eyed exhaustion and laundry. It’s also enjoying the pleasure of your child being able to express her desires with language, enjoying the delight she takes in the world (and getting to re-experience it yourself), and introducing her to the finer things in life (such as dim sum and beer can collecting).
