How to Be Pregnant in the Summer

Maybe when a woman is pregnant she gives off a vibe that suggest she wants everyone’s detailed comments on her shape, her weight, her food intake, her future parenting styles, her inability to mother because she wants to do some painting. Actually, I have to say I’ve been 95% free of those intrusive people I hear about. And the belly feelers (besides that one stranger) never materialized.

However, a few people do say “you’re so small,” “you’ll never want to walk at 8 months of pregnancy,” “you’re going to have the baby early,” “you’re going to hate your 8th month,” “July and August are the WORST months to be pregnant,” “aren’t you just SOOOO hot in this weather?”

I really don’t understand comments about the heat. Man created air conditioning for pregnant women in August. It’s not like I am walking around miles from a water bottle. We don’t normally use A/C (yes even in our humid metropolis) so I use the a/c now and am just fine. As for walking, I would LOVE to walk. Trust me, when I know it’s safe to start exercising again (next Tuesday to be exact) I will be walking and doing yoga and pilates again. I look longingly at my weights and yoga mat every single morning when I get out of bed. Only 9 more days…
